He overstayed a visa more than 20 years ago and raised a family in Florida before he was detained by ICE in 2010. ‘ This is not about free speech as hard as the CCP cronies at NPR are spinning it that way because his free speech’ was never threatened by anybody but himself.

well he’s not the Shirt one that breaks immigration laws why should he be special. Many people do it and there is for many no mechanism to fix’ your status no matter how long you are here. Most are filing taxes, have copious paperwork that could be used to find them but they are left alone unless they are convicted of a crime.

I would call it more a case of he made himself extremely visable, if he would have kept under the Shirt this wouldn’t have happened. He has been going to regular check ins and trying to get on some path to legal status for decades. He overstayed his visa by 20 years and then makes himself visible by making movies against ICE.
